Oscar De La Hoya Pursuing Ryan Garcia vs Devin Haney for 2024
The boxing community is buzzing after Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya hinted at a possible showdown featuring WBC junior welterweight champion Devin “The Dream” Haney and “King” Ryan Garcia.
Some boxing fans will be a little skeptical. Garcia (24-1, 20KO) showed a lack of interest in fighting The Dream (31-0, 15KO) in the past. Yet, that pattern seems to have changed as De La Hoya took to social media, asking the fans if they want to see the fight.
The Golden Boy CEO posted that message following Haney’s impressive victory over two-time champion Regis Prograis on December 9. Boxing fans are still amazed at his performance that night. Several enthusiasts have placed The Dream in the elite-level category.
THIS NOT A JOKE
In addition, Garcia wants the fight and shocked the boxing world by revealing that he gave Golden Boy permission to pursue the fight.
“I’ve advised my team to contact Team Haney to discuss and make the fight happen between Devin and I.”

Haney wasted no time backing up that claim by stating that his rival did not release a fictional statement.
“These are facts…”

After tasting defeat for the first time against Gervonta Davis, King Ryan has recommitted himself to the sport and vowed to become a world champion. Armed with a new trainer, Derrick James, and coming off a knockout victory over Oscar Duarte, it appears Garcia is very serious.
Will the fight happen next? Are they serious? These are just some of the questions that will be floating around boxing circles. However, fans will have to wait in anticipation for the deal to get done.
