Otto Wallin Quickly Stops Onoriode Ehwarieme
Heavyweight contender Otto Wallin (2-2, 15KO), in need of a victory, scored a quick first-round knockout over Onoriode “Godzilla” Ehwarieme (20-5, 19KO).
The fighter’s ring walks were longer than the fight itself. If you went to the bathroom or looked down at your phone, you are watching the replay. Wallin used the jab as a range finder before throwing a feint jab and stepping to the side to land a thunderous straight left hand.
Godzilla crumbled to the canvas like a demolished building. He tried to get up but was stumbling badly before falling into the referee, who decided to stop the fight.
It was the confidence fight Wallin needed after getting beatdown by two-unified champion Anthony Joshua in December 2023. In addition, he remains close to the heavyweight title picture with this victory being rated #12 by the IBF.
In the post-fight interview, he still feels that he is one of the top guys in the division. Furthermore, he looks forward to getting back into the ring soon.
