Pascal to Browne: “Real Men Don’t Put Hands on Women!”

Jean Pascal Attempts to Shame Marcus Browne

Jean Pascal continues to antagonize Marcus Browne!

In boxing, it’s nothing new for fighters to use aspects of their opponent’s personal life to antagonize them. This is exactly the tactic the Haitian born boxer Jean Pascal (33-6-1, 20 KO’s) levied against this next foe, interim WBA light heavyweight champion “Sir” Marcus Browne (23-0, 16 KO’s).

The two light heavyweights will go head-to-head in the main event of a FOX broadcast this August 3.

During the final presser, Pascal yanked a blonde wig out of a plastic bag he’d brought on stage. After revealing the garment, he questioned if Browne would fight him ‘like a man’ if he wore the wig.

Pascal was making reference to Browne’s reoccurring legal battles, which have consistently been made public knowledge. In all of these cases, Browne has been accused of a series of physical altercations with his child’s mother.

Obviously, Pascal saw this as a chance to both, denigrate an act he doesn’t personally respect and potentially unnerve his current adversary.

When asked to delve a bit further into his reasoning in a Fight Hype interview, Pascal was swift on the response.

“Real men don’t put hands on women and plus like, you said ‘we don’t know if it’s true or not’. It is true because he plead guilty already for few charges and then, you know, that same incident came back again.

“So like, Marcus, be smart, don’t touch women. Like, if you want to fight, fight a real man like me. So stop running like a chicken and trying to hold like an octopus in the ring and fight like a real man and do that Saturday night.”

While all the tough talk sounds fantastic, Pascal will have a severe uphill battle on his hands. The always-game boxer is 4-4 in his last eight bouts. Not only this, Pascal absorbed considerable jaw-clinging damage in his outings against Sergey Kovalev, Eleider Alvarez and Dmitry Bivol.

In fact, he sustained so much one-sided abuse that it’s basically impossible to even view him as a top world class fighter any longer.

It would be a complete shock if Pascal actually did upset the younger, fresher and hard-hitting former Olympian.

Unlike his Haitian foe, Browne is still undefeated. He also just picked up the interim WBA title in his last fight against Badou Jack.

Coming in off this momentum, it’d be a foolhardy act to place a serious wager on Pascal winning.

Regardless of who gets the victory at the end, however, the trash talking now is rather entertaining!
