Caleb Plant to Daniel Jacobs: You’re The Only One Who Has Been Beat
While providing a recent interview to Fight Hype, former middleweight world champion Daniel “The Miracle Man” Jacobs (36-3, 30 KO’s) was asked to rank the super middleweight champions in order. When Jacobs began listing his opinion, he placed IBF world super middleweight champion Caleb “Sweethands” Plant (20-0, 12 KO’s) on the bottom of that roster. The Miracle Man made sure to say that Plant was definitely skilled but still a beatable fighter.
Once those comments made their way to Plant’s ears, he took the offense that most would assume is the proper response. During the course of his own interview with Fight Hype, Sweethands supplied his own less than sterling opinion on Jacobs’ skillset, as well as the likelihood that they would ever collide in the ring.

Similar to Jacobs, Plant did give credit to the Miracle Man for being a skilled and capable boxer. Although, that is where his praise started and stopped! Aside from the complimentary admission, Plant would go on to say that the Brooklyn bruiser was not an A-class fighter, was himself beatable and that he had missed his opportunity to be a real force in the sport.
“I don’t think Danny Jacobs is the man for the job. He’s been beat, he’s been in some tough fights and I just don’t think that he is an A-class fighter…he had his chance. And recently he was kind of saying my name and saying how beatable I am, but as of now I am undefeated. Out of the two of us talking, you’re the only one who has been beat.”
SHIPS PASSING IN THE NIGHT
Despite the somewhat harsh criticism that Plant levied upon Jacobs, he concluded by saying that they probably won’t even get the chance to go to war with one another. While it remains an unsavory and detestable aspect to the fans, Plant believes that their prizefight will not happen due to Jacobs flawed record and industry politics.
“By the time that I do become a megastar, because I will, he’s already messed it up. He’s not a mega-fighter, we can’t have a mega-fight. You’re on the way out, they’re not going to let that happen. If you would have stayed undefeated, if you were still undefeated then we would be able to do that. So the fight that he is asking for he messed up.
I would love to fight him! I’ll put a boxing lesson on him. I would love to fight him, I would fight him in a heartbeat but I can promise everyone of y’all right now they are not going to let us fight because he is not a megastar. So they are not going to send him over!”
Stay tuned to see what Jacobs has to say upon hearing this new interview!
