Caleb Plant Plotting on His Next Move!

Following a dominant third round knockout stoppage, IBF world super middleweight champion Caleb “Sweet Hands” Plant is riding high! All the way until the match itself, Plant assured the world he would stop Mike “White Bear” Lee.

Once in the ring, Sweet Hands made good on his vow. Caged in the squared-circle, the White Bear looked slow, clumsy and wildly out of place.

Lee promised that his power would be a game changer. However, he was never able to land any meaningful paws on the champ. Even worse, it was Plant who dumped him on the canvas multiple times. The end came swiftly. With Lee vanquished, and his first title defense in the books, Sweet Hands can turn his attention to his next professional move.

His next major personal move is to wed his lady and PBC on FOX reporter, Jordan Hardy.

“We can get the WBC or actually my mandatory is going to be the winner of Quillin and Truax. So, we’ll probably get that and after that, hopefully unify.”

Having heard what was on his radar, media members were quick to bring up David “El Bandera Roja” Benavidez. Benavidez is a big, highly skilled and undefeated fighter who is widely seen as the best super middleweight in terms of skill and potential.

Due to his destructive hands and fluid fundamentals in the ring, many in the boxing world are beginning to clamor for this bout.

“I mean if he [Benavidez] can keep his title. He got to be able to keep it though. He got to keep his nose clean.”

The last quip about keeping his nose clean clearly references Benavidez’ history with VADA. Back on August 27, 2018 he was busted with elements of cocaine in his system. At the point when the unfavorable test results came back, he was the WBC world super middleweight champion.

However, as a result of the failed drug test, the WBC would strip him of the title and make him the “Emeritus” champion. Later, Anthony Dirrell won the vacant title over Avil Yildirim.

Putting the wisecracks to the side, there are many people who believe that the taller and longer Benavidez might be too much for Plant to handle. Sweet Hands would probably say the same things were said about Jose Uzcategui. It was Uzcategui who Plant defeated to become a champion back on January 13.

During their entertaining war of wills, the slick Nashville boxer rather easily outclassed Uzcategui en route to a 12-round unanimous decision victory. When needled a bit more about Benavidez, it became evident he speculated his adversary would not fare much better than Uzcategui.

“I think everything I possess would be a difference. So, I’m smarter than him, I’m faster than him, I’m a better athlete than he is. I’m more disciplined than he is. I got more grit than he does. I got the better defense. I got the better ring IQ. Am I tripping on any of that? Am I tripping off that? OK.”
