Regis Prograis issues challenge to former Floyd Mayweather foe Conor McGregor!
In an odd twist, WBA and WBC super lightweight champion Regis “Rougarou” Prograis (24-0, 20 KO’s) has issued a two-fight challenge to UFC fighter Conor “The Notorious One” McGregor.
Via his Twitter account, Prograis informed the former UFC champion he would face him first in the ring and then again in the cage. While seemingly out the blue, the call out really is in reaction to McGregor’s previous actions.
In March, the Notorious One attempted to goad actor Mark Wahlberg into a cage fight. In doing so, McGregor said he would tangle with Wahlberg for the thespians shares of UFC stock.
Despite the initial offer going unheeded by Wahlberg, McGregor chose to call him out once again on June 9.
“I challenge Mark Walhberg on the very same card. Back when Mark Wahlberg was ‘Marky Mark’, I’d have still slapped the ears off him and took my UFC shares back.”

As it turns out, Wahlberg manages Prograis, who didn’t take kindly to the public call-outs.
It’s unlikely that the Notorious One will take up Rougarou on his offer, but time will tell. If he were to accept the two fight deal, they would certainly make for career high paydays for Prograis.
Either way, the hard hitting New Orleans native is currently tied up in the World Boxing Super Series.
Having just stopped Kiryl Relikh on April 27, Prograis is waiting to face Josh Taylor in the finals of the super lightweight tournament. The fight date is yet to be announced and to be quite honest, it is much more of an intriguing fight!
