Prospect Antonio Mireles Showing Promise Under the Top Rank Banner

In the land of the giants, heavyweight prospect Antonio “El Gigante” Mireles (5-0, 5KO) is hard to miss. El Gigante stands 6-foot-9 with an 85-inch reach and is surprisingly light on his feet for a man that size. In addition, he shows tremendous patience by allowing the knockouts to come by building off the jab.

Mireles comes with a noteworthy amateur background despite only having a record of 28-4. He won the 2019 National Golden Gloves along with winning the 2020 Olympic trials. He didn’t make the cut for the team and accepted a role as an alternate for the 2020 Olympics.

TOP RANK AND ROBERT GARCIA A WINNING TEAM FOR MIRELES

The 25-year-old Iowa native was immediately signed to a promotional contract by Top Rank’s head honcho Bob Arum in 2021. He gained the attention of the boxing community with his overall boxing ability in his debut.

El Gigante is receiving some of the best teachings from world-renowned trainer Robert Garcia of the famous Oxnard gym. Garcia worked with his first heavyweight, former unified champion Anthony Joshua for the rematch against unified champion Oleksandr Usyk.

Mireles made his professional debut on the undercard of WBO featherweight champion Emanuel Navarrete’s title defense against Joet Gonzalez in 2021. He is featured on 3Kings Boxing’s prospect coverage on the undercard of former world champion Isaac Dogboe against two-time title challenger Joet Gonzalez.

In his last outing, the tall heavyweight overcame adversity after getting up off the canvas in the first round only to stop his opponent in the second round. The heavy-handed Mireles has yet to hear the final bell or gone past two rounds.

El Gigante is a diamond in the rough that has the potential to go far under the guidance of both, Top Rank and Garcia.
