Another bantamweight like Joshua Greer Jr (22-1-1, 12KO) hailing from the city of Chicago is undefeated 26 year-old prospect Shawn Simpson (11-0, 3KO). He is another high-quality amateur who has shared the ring with names like former WBC champ Rau’shee Warren along with fellow prospects Emilio Sanchez and Emmanuel Folly.
Currently, he is training with current and former champions Terence Crawford, Jamel Herring, Maurice Hooker and Robert Brant to sharpen his skills as he moves up the bantamweight rankings.
Simpson was last seen on the under-card of Erislandy Lara’s dominating second round knockout win over Canelo Alvarez’ older brother Ramon Alvarez in August 2019. There he defeated journeyman Samuel Gutierrez by unanimous decision. He is currently scheduled to return on June 6!
