Reece Bellotti Retains The British Titles Against Levi Giles
In a fight for the British and Commonwealth featherweight titles, Reece “Bomber” Bellotti (19-5, 14KO) survived a late rally by Levi Giles (15-2, 4KO) to retain the titles.t
Bomber has faced more quality opponents than Giles, and it showed. He mixed up the attack early in the fight and did a decent job getting in and out with those counter shots.
As the fight continued, Bellotti’s movement and quick combinations were the story of the fight. However, Giles finally adjusted and found a home for the left hook by punching with the Bellotti.
Yet, Bellotti regained control by attacking the body and throwing combination punches that halted the Giles offense. This became a recurring theme over the next few rounds as Giles didn’t let those hands go enough.
In the final round, Giles turned up the offense and landed a right hand that hurt the British champion. Realizing victory was within grasp, Giles attacked relentlessly looking for the knockout. Yet, the experience of Bomber is what saved him as the final sound.
Two judges scored it 118-110, and one had it 117-110 in favor of Bomber.
