Regis Prograis reveals training mentality!

Former WBA Junior Welterweight champion Regis Prograis (25-1, 21KOs) is a man that is all about inflicting punishment onto his opponents. He showcased that mentality and his devastating punching power back in October of 2020 by stopping Juan Heraldez (16-1-1, 10KOs) in three rounds.

While currently in search of his next opponent, Prograis talked to 3kingsboxing about a plethora of topics. Included in that was his way of training. While most fighters train strategically for their upcoming fights, as well as to sharpen their skills, Prograis’ focus is to punish his opponents!

He told 3kingsboxing the following about how he goes about his training.

“When I train, I don’t train to win, I train to fuck people up. That’s what I train for. I hit tires and shit with my bare hands bro. I’m not training to box. My favorite fighter is Mike Tyson, you know what I’m saying. He’s trained to fuck people up and that’s the same thing I do bro.

“I’m not training to fucking get a decision, to box you. I’m training to fucking hurt you, that’s what I train for, that’s what I do.”

That mentality and approach is why people are eager to see Prograis back in action. His potential addition to an already deep welterweight division provides bigger fights for not only him but also other fighters in the division. Let’s hope we see him back in the ring with a big name fighter.
