Rodriguez vs Butler Purse Bid Ordered

Rodriguez still hunting for Burnett fight

In Cardiff, Wales this weekend WBA bantamweight world champion, Ryan Burnett, successfully defended his belt by defeating Venezuelan Yonfrez Parejo via unanimous decision.

Earlier this year Burnett was the unified WBA and IBF champion, however he vacated the IBF belt to face the WBA ranked Parejo. A decision that seems to have fired up undefeated Puerto Rican fighter Emmanuel ‘Manny’ Rodriguez, who was the IBF top ranked fighter at the time.

Now, Rodriguez has a chance to capture the IBF title but first he has to defeat Paul Butler from England. A purse bid for this fight has been scheduled by the IBF for tomorrow.

Rodriguez isn’t short on words or confidence when it comes to calling out Burnett, saying that it was a good thing he vacated the belt and his heart of a champion is having some issues.

Butler is a former world champion and a solid veteran so this isn’t going to be a walk in the park for Rodriguez.

If Rodriguez wins expect him to be looking for a unification fight with Burnett and they say they’re willing to fight in the UK. This is just another example of why 2018 continues to be great for boxing these young lions are hungry and willing to prove they are the best.
