Team Roiman Villa Ready For Rashidi Ellis Again But Wants Jaron Ennis!

The welterweight division has a new contender named Roiman “Flaco de Oro” Villa (26-1, 24KO)! He could find himself as a possible opponent for IBF interim champion Jaron “Boots” Ennis (30-0, 27KO) while he waits to get his shot at the title.

Villa caught the attention of the boxing community after scoring an upset over Rashidi “Speedy” Ellis on January 7. In addition, his victory was huge considering it was an IBF eliminator, making things very interesting when looking down the line.

The division is on hold as the boxing world awaits the undisputed showdown between unified champion Errol “The Truth” Spence and WBO champ Terence “Bud” Crawford. This is the perfect chance for team Villa to capitalize on a few options.

POSSIBILITIES FOR THE NEXT MOVE

A rematch with Ellis is always a possibility. However, a more lucrative fight against Ennis could present itself as a better option. While speaking with the media, Villa’s promoter Sampson Lewkowicz has no problems doing either.

“If Ellis wants to complain, he can have rematch any time, just ask. Villa will do it again, but this time it will be even quicker. If not, we are ready for Boots Ennis if he wants to fight.”

Keep in mind that in the post-fight press conference, team Ennis admitted that if a Spence fight doesn’t happen next, they plan to keep fighting.

“He’s the number one mandatory for Spence, so if we can’t get that, we just gone keep on moving.”

Bozy Ennis – Father/Trainer for Jaron Ennis

This would be a good fight as Villa’s solid chin, power, and come-forward style would provide a good test for Ennis. This adds more fire to an already hot welterweight division!
