Rolly Romero Drops Ryan Garcia Over A-Side Dispute!
Once again in his career, “King Ry” Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KO’s) has made a fool of himself. This time he accomplished this by ducking WBC junior welterweight champion Devin “The Dream” Haney in bizarre fashion. His plan was then to take on WBA 140-pound champion Rolando “Rolly” Romero (15-1, 13 KO’s).
Yet, he earned his dunce cap by doubling down on his insistence that the fight announcement with Rolly was imminent. Of course, since then, the boxing world has been alerted to the fact that Romero will actually be facing Isaac Cruz in this next prizefight. Given his lengthy track record for selling the boxing world on a bill of goods he just cant produce, now should be a good time for deep reflection.
DON’T GET CONFUSED
Even though he ultimately did miss out on the squabble with Romero, Rolly himself confirmed that Garcia did have a legitimate chance to make the bout. According to Rolly however, Garcia carried himself through the negotiations as if he was the A-side. This arrogance appears to be what cost King Ry the fight.
“I mean, let’s be honest with you, it was always me the the A-side. I am champion. I don’t know anytime in the damn world champion isn’t the A-side! So they can all go fuck off . . . but isn’t Pitbull Cruz the more difficult fighter, stronger fighter, more durable fighter, more exciting fighter?”
CIRCUS COMING TO TOWN
Over the past several years, King Ry has had a few very public feuds with his Golden Boy Promotion backers. Garcia has now twice put himself in place to face Devin Haney but chose otherwise. The Californian kid also announced a fight with boxing legend Manny Pacquiao that ended up being another case of the boy crying wolf.
Regardless of how he got to this embarrassing and aggravating situation, the question is, has Garcia finally learned his lesson? Will he stop running to social media before ascertaining all the real facts of the matter? Only time will tell, until then stay plugged into 3Kings Boxing to see when Ryan Garcia makes his next appearance.
