Rolly Romero contemplating quitting boxing?

Ever since his removal from the biggest fight of his career against multi-weight world champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis due to multiple sexual misconduct allegations, Rolando “Rolly” Romero has been relatively quiet. The former WBA interim lightweight champion was in line his biggest career payday. Not only that, it was also the opportunity to pull off a major upset. Unfortunately for the power-punching contender, all of that went down the drain.

As of late, there are a lot of shakeups happening in the lightweight division. Just as well, there’s a growing frustration brewing inside the belly of the outspoken fighter. Davis won a very competitive unanimous decision over Isaac Cruz on December 5. Immediately after, Romero declared he would have placed Tank flat on the mat!

That statement came as no surprise as he boldly and confidently proclaimed so numerous times. Now, George Kambosos is the new unified lightweight champion and WBC champion Devin Haney, Gervonta Davis, Vasyl Lomachenko and Ryan Garcia are all vying for a shot at the Australian. This has left Rolly feeling like he’s been left out in the cold. Furthermore, there is no new word on the situation surrounding the accusations being hurled his way. Therefore, there’s truly no timetable on his return to the ring.

With that, he took to Twitter to reveal his thoughts of quitting the sport he loves as he feels nobody in the sport wanted him to succeed. We shall see what comes of this. It could be smoke and mirrors. Truth be told, I find it hard to believe a prideful guy like Rolly will simply quit and disappear.
