Ryan Garcia Sets Sights on Fight with Tank Davis for December!
The lightweight division is loaded with tremendous talent. Taking center stage on May 28 was unbeaten 135-pound WBA Regular champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis (27-0, 25KOs) as he put his title on the line against Rolando “Rolly” Romero (14-1, 12KOs).
Davis, one of boxing’s growing superstars, showcased why he is must-see TV. After a slow start, a left hook would erase Romero in the sixth round. Davis, who had been very vocal throughout the fight, whether it was talking trash to Rolly, trying to get his mom’s attention or talking to someone who tried giving him advice, who he wouldn’t name in his post-fight interview.
THE MYSTERIOUS FIGURE
One candidate is Ryan Garcia (22-0, 18KOs) who showed up to scout both men as possible future opponents. In the aftermath of the fight, Garcia went to social media to call out Davis yet again. Furthermore, he also said that Davis was shouting at him that he was next!
Garcia and Davis have been at each other’s necks for a few years now. Last December, Garcia proclaimed that he would knock Davis out. However, with Davis possibly becoming a free agent, as he said he would prior to the Romero fight, this fight may finally get made. But first things first, Garcia must handle his business on July 16 against an opponent that hasn’t been determined yet.
3Kings Boxing will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
