Ryan Garcia Claims to Have Already Sized Up Tank Davis
On November 2022, the boxing world was buzzing after news that WBA ‘regular’ lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis (27-0, 25KO) and top junior welterweight contender Ryan “King Ry” Garcia (23-0, 19KO) would fight in 2023. As the two fighters have gone back and forth on social media, Garcia mentioned having already sized up the Baltimore power puncher.

In preparation for the fight with King Ry, Davis is taking on WBA ‘regular’ junior lightweight Hector Garcia on Showtime Pay-Per-View on January 7. Things got a little intense as the two fighters squared off at the final press conference. Davis grabbed, pushed, and taunted his opponent while Garcia took a defensive stance before posing for the cameras.
GARCIA AND TANK’S HEATED EXCHANGE
Fans are eager to see what happens once both fighters are inside the ring. However, King Ry took to social media claiming there will be a different outcome if Tank does that for their fight.
Davis couldn’t help but respond by bringing up an incident that took place at a club in 2022. Garcia swiftly chimed back in, stating he knows why Davis has been struggling with opponents.
THE BACKSTORY TO AN OLD INCIDENT
What the two men are speaking about is the time Tank grabbed Garcia’s chain after being approached in the club by his rival asking about making the fight happen. Garcia did a live feed speaking on the incident while admitting he was not worried about the situation escalating.
Providing Davis gets past the upcoming assignment with the Dominican Garcia, the boxing community is going to go into overdrive talking about the showdown between him and Ryan Garcia later this year.
