Samuel Antwi and Lyndon Arthur Take Home Knockout Wins

Samuel Antwi (17-2, 8 KOs) scored a twelfth-round knockout over Mason Cartwright (19-4-1, 8 KOs) at the Bolton Whites Hotel in Bolton, England, in what is a candidate for the Knockout of the Year.

Both fighters threw heavy leather from the opening bell. Antwi used his speed to land early and often in the opening rounds.

Cartwright landed his share of good shots. But whenever it seemed like he was coming on, Antwi would respond with rapid-fire combinations to the head and body to regain the momentum.

Antwi continued to dominate the action until round nine when it seemed like the pace of the bout was starting to take a toll on him. Cartwright landed with hard left hooks to the head and solid shots to the body in rounds nine, ten, and eleven.

But with forty-five seconds to go in the final round, an Antwi right-hand left Cartwright out on his feet. A follow-up left hook and right-hand sent Cartwright to the canvas. Clearly hurt, the referee waved the fight over. Antwi was overjoyed in what was the most significant win of his career.

LYNDON ARTHUR PULLS VICTORY AWAY FROM BRAIAN NAHUEL SUAREZ

In one of the most sudden turnarounds you will ever see in a boxing ring, England’s Lyndon Arthur (23-1, 16 KOs) scored a tenth-round knockout over Argentina’s Braian Nahuel Suarez (18-2, 17 KOs) at the Bolton Whites Hotel in Bolton, England.

Arthur tried to use his jab to keep his foe at bay. But Suarez maintained constant pressure throughout. However, the Argentinian was applying constant pressure.

With seconds left in round four, Arthur went down from a right hand from Suarez. Another right-hand from Suarez produced a second knockdown with less than thirty seconds to go in the fifth.

Suarez dominated the middle rounds and seemed well on his way to victory. Then with twenty seconds to go in round ten, an Arthur left hook to the body sent Suarez crumbling to the canvas. Writhing in pain, he could not get up! Look for Arthur to appear in the world rankings after coming away with one of the most dramatic fights of 2023.
