According to WBO President, Billy Joe Saunders may be next for Demetrius Andrade

This particular rumor is coming directly from the President of the WBO! Mr. Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel expressed how impressed he was with Demetrius Andrade’s performance over Artur Akavov via social media.

In the same message, he stated Billy Joe Saunders could be next. This means the WBO would possibly order the fight to happen.

3kingsboxing.com previously reported Andrade stating he would give Saunders an opportunity to win the belt back. The statement was contingent upon him defeating Walter Kautondokwa after Saunders vacated the title.

Meanwhile, Saunders stated over social media that “he was coming” while tagging Andrade in the message. However, the WBO currently does not have him listed in the rankings.

In addition, Golden Boy’s David Lemieux is the #1 contender.  Golden Boy’s dealings with Matchroom and DAZN will simplify making an Andrade vs Lemieux bout in the future.

Nevertheless, Saunders is expected to return at middleweight in April. If he wins, maybe he will be reinstated into the WBO rankings similar to how he was with the WBC. This would put him in a prime position for a clash with Andrade for late 2019!
