Claressa Shields-Marie Eve Dicaire undisputed title fight postponed due to coronavirus!
The women’s junior middleweight undisputed title fight between three division world champion and current undisputed women’s middleweight champion Claressa “T-Rex” Shields (10-0, 2KOs) and unbeaten IBF junior middleweight champion Marie Eve Dicaire (17-0) has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Shields-Dicaire is the latest fight to either be cancelled or postponed.
The fight was scheduled to headline a May 9 Showtime card in the undisputed champion’s hometown of Michigan. Shields was attempting to become an undisputed champion in her second weight class.
Shields last fought in January where she easily beat Ivana Habazin (20-4, 7KOs) to win the vacant WBC and WBO junior middleweight titles. Dicaire was last in action where she defeated Ogleidis Suarez (29-4-1, 13KOs) by way of a unanimous decision.
At the moment, there’s no new date set.
