Shiro Possible Return in December

Shiro looking to make his fifth title defense in December

WBC light flyweight champion Ken Shiro (14-0, 8KOs) is looking for another dance partner in hopes of a December return.

After his recent victory against Milan Melindo, the 26 year-old Japanese champion wants to face another top rated fighter.

Pundits would like to see a possible unification between champions Hekkie Budler, Angel Acosta or the winner for the IBF vacate title between Felix Alvarado & Randy Petalcorin.

There is no denying that Shiro is becoming a force in a pretty loaded division. In addition, fighting on the undercard of fellow countryman Naoya Inoue has helped his career.

The young champion has knocked out his last three opponents and shows patience and control beyond his years. His ring IQ was in full display against Melindo.

He successfully avoided the right hand and applied effective pressure in route to a 7th round knockout.

It’s still good to see how serious the young fighter is taking his career. This level of commitment will serve him well as champion in future bouts.

3kingsboxing will continue to follow the story for further development.
