Errol Spence Jr Doubles Down on Desire for Crawford Undisputed Showdown
Ever since WBO welterweight champion Terence “Bud” Crawford (38-0, 29 KO’s) entered the division, back in June of 2018, the fans have clamored to see him face one fighter. That man of the hour is WBA Super, IBF and WBC welterweight champion Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr (28-0, 22 KO’s). Up to now politics and egos have largely gotten in the way of this tremendous fight from being realized. In his last in-ring tour of duty, Spence beat up and stopped top Cuban fighter Yordenis Ugas.
With the spoils of war, The Truth collected Ugas’s WBA Super title. With this being the case, the last belt preventing him from being the undisputed champion of the division is Crawford’s WBO strap. Unsurprisingly, Spence is now forcefully and regularly calling for a showdown with Bud. In his most recent declaration, The Truth took to his social media to reiterate his desire to dance with Crawford.
The Spence versus Crawford duel has always received a great deal of interest from the fans, yet their more recent performances have only stoked these flames. In The Truth’s assignment, he thoroughly outclassed, roughed up and broke the face of the aforementioned Yordenis Ugas. Likewise, Bud took on, out-thought and dominated the eternally challenging Shawn Porter.
Despite Shawn Porter easily having one of, if not, the best resumes at welterweight, Crawford displayed a separation in skill that no other fighter could establish over Porter. Coming off these fantastic wins, with undisputed hanging in the balance, there doesn’t seem to be a better time for these two titans to collide. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope that it does. Yet, no matter what happens, 3Kings Boxing will be here to report the news!
