Stephen Fulton Jr. Puts Vargas and Akhmadaliev on Notice
Super bantamweight Stephen “Cool Boy Steph” Fulton (18-0, 8ko) is all set to fight his third undefeated fighter in Angelo “El Chinito” Leo (19-0, 9ko) in August. What makes this an even bigger fight is WBO champion Emanuel Navarrete has vacated the title to move up.
Fulton’s bout will be for the vacant WBO title. However, the Philadelphia boxer is looking at grabbing all of the titles.
During an interview with Pro Boxing Fans, the talented fighter expressed wanting a unification fight following a victory for the vacated WBO title.
“Rey Vargas would be the first since he’s on PBC side. Then MJ, so we can see who will be the first undisputed super bantamweight champion of the world in history ever.”
MAKE THE DAME FIGHTS!
I know what most of you are thinking: MJ? He is referring to the unified champion Murodjon “MJ” Akhmadaliev (8-0, 6ko). He shocked the boxing community by dethroning then-unified champion Daniel Roman (27-3-1, 10ko) at the beginning of 2020.
A fight with WBC champion Rey Vargas (34-0, 22ko) should be easy, as expressed by the champion; particularly considering they both fight under the Premier Boxing Champions flagship. When commenting about how easy it should be to make the fight, Cool Boy explained his belief that all fights are easy, but it has to be worth it to all parties involved.
“Very easy, it’s just all up to his camp if they want to do it or not. I believe that rather it’s Top Rank, DAZN, or anywhere else it’s all about money for these guys. Just make it make sense for them, any fight can get done.”
Fulton is also confident that he can achieve this goal of being undisputed. The Philadelphia boxer made it clear that he wants all of the belts when asked how many titles he wants by this time next year.
“Undisputed, all of them; we collect the IBO and Ring Magazine, I want all of them. I don’t think no one has had the WBA, WBO, IBF, WBC, IBO, and Ring magazine and I know I can get it done.”
