The status of Adonis Stevenson has gone from critical to stable
GYM Promotions head Yvon Michel took to Twitter to update the world on former WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson. His status is now “stable” after being listed in critical condition shortly after his bout with Oleksandr Gvozdyk.
The fight ended in a brutal eleven round knockout in which Stevenson was the recipient of numerous blows to the head. The former WBC champion had been looking to make his tenth successful defense of his title.
As of now, it’s unclear if the 41 year-old will continue to fight. He hasn’t taken much punishment throughout his twelve year career, however, this could be a sign that it may be time to retire.
