Tank & Mayweather Take Their Personal Beef to Business Affairs

WBA lightweight champion Abdul “Tank” Wahid (Gervonta Davis) traded blows with Hall of Fame Inductee Floyd Mayweather Jr. Furthermore, Tank had a message for anyone looking to fight under the Mayweather Promotions umbrella.

The boxing news cycle has been hit with a tsunami of jaw-dropping messages as part of the ongoing feud featuring Mayweather and Tank. After his press conference for the upcoming fight against Frank Martin, Wahid responded to news of Leonard Ellerbe stepping down as CEO of Mayweather Promotions. This was the beginning of another eye-raising back and forth.

THIS TIME IT WENT TOO FAR

The Hall of Fame Inductee posted a message on social media expressing gratitude for Ellerbe’s service and that Richard Shaffer will be the new CEO.

The WBA champion quickly sprung into action, claiming Mayweather is a fraud that will ruin a fighter’s career.

Being a former fighter, Mayweather hit back, sending fans into a frenzy by claiming Davis versus Martin was no longer happening.

In a since-deleted tweet, the Baltimore power puncher fired right back.

“Floyd is a bitter bitch”

The WBA champion and his former mentor’s last heated exchange on social media was intense, but this time, they took it to a whole new level. Consider the damage that can happen if people believe the fight is off. It doesn’t just affect Tank, but everyone on that fight card.

Wahid’s claims that Mayweather would ruin a fighter’s career is somewhat ironic, especially since Tank is something of a household name. In this author’s opinion, this was completely over the line. Since Tank parted ways with Mayweather Promotions, things went from bad to worse to downright disrespectful.
