Murtazaliev vs Crawford Is Worth Exploring For 2025
IBF junior middleweight champion Bakhram Murtazaliev (23-0, 17KO) wants a unification next, and fighting WBA champion Terence “Bud” Crawford (41-0, 31KO) should be a top priority.
Murtazaliev is the new talk of the town after he dismantled one-time WBO champion Tim Tszyu. The IBF champion was relatively unknown as all of the media attention focused on Tszyu fighting a bigger name possibly next.
Many viewed Murtazaliev as a forgotten champion. With news articles focused on champions Sebastian Fundora, Crawford, and Errol Spence, he got lost in the shuffle. The fashion in which he destroyed the challenger has fans asking about a possible fight with Crawford.
HE SHOULD JUMP AT MAKING THE FIGHT
While speaking with the media, Murtazaliev and his trainer said they have no issue with facing anyone.
“My priority is to fight for more titles against Spence, Fundora, or Crawford. But, if we cannot make it happen, then we will choose the best option for us.” – Bakhram Murtazaliev via Translation.
“If we have enough time, we can be ready for anybody.” – Trainer Roma Kalantaryan
Boxing fans can get caught up in the moment, which explains why some believe the Russian would beat Crawford. Whether that’s true or not, Bud should capitalize on this moment and forget about fighting unified super middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.
To be honest, many inside the boxing community believe Bud should have lost against Israil Madrimov on August 3. In addition, there is rumbling within the community that Crawford may have lost a step or two.
If the WBO champion wants to put a stop to all the noise a dominant victory against Murtazaliev would do the trick. It also places the winner one fight away from grabbing the undisputed crown.
One thing is for certain the junior middleweight division has some promising fights that could take place in 2025.
