Zolani Tete returns to face John Riel Casimero.
WBO Bantamweight champion Zolani Tete (28-3, 21KO) will face former two division world champion John Riel Casimero (28-4, 19KO).
Queensbury promotions head honcho Frank Warren won the purse bid, which means it’s possible this fight will land on the rumored date of November 23 in London.
The 31 year-old, South African had to pull out of the World Boxing Super Series tournament due to shoulder injury. This disappointing incident would push things back for the WBO champion.
Looking forward to getting back on the saddle coming off a long layoff is going into a very tough fight and if victories expressed wanting to unify.
Casimero, 30 years-old Philippines fighter, currently is the WBO interim champion after defeating Ricardo Franco back in April. This victory laid down the ground works for this title opportunity.
The former champion is more than capable of winning and has shared the ring with champion Moruti Mthalane, along with a upset victory over then rising undefeated fighter Charlie Edwards.
The Bantamweight division is extremely loaded with former champions and top quality contenders. Even if a unification doesn’t happen anytime soon there are plenty of mouth watering match-ups boxing fans will gladly appreciate.
