Keith Thurman Calls for Manny Pacquiao Rematch…Again!
In an interview with TMZ former unified welterweight champion Keith Thurman made it clear that he wants an immediate rematch with super WBA welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao.
“Where’s the contract Pac?! Sign the contract! Rematch!”
Back on July 20, Pacquiao won their tantalizing battle by a close split-decision. He dropped Thurman in round one and further outclassed him for the majority of the first half of the fight.
However, Thurman battled his way back down the stretch to close the gap. Still, it wasn’t enough to secure the victory. Although he suffered his first professional loss, it didn’t affect his confidence, as he expressed his desire to have an immediate rematch.
Interestingly enough, Thurman said he felt the fight should’ve been declared a draw.
“I still think the fight was nothing more than a draw. I don’t really think that he won the fight.”
Regardless of what Thurman feels should’ve been the outcome, reality is he’s the former champion and Pacquiao is the current one. Hopefully, these two guys reach an agreement for a 2020 or 2021 sequel as I don’t think anyone would be opposed to watching these two go at it again.
