Top Rank claims deal with Naoya Inoue is done!

According to reports, Bob Arum of Top Rank promotions claims to have reached an agreement with pound for pound bantamweight Naoya “Monster” Inoue (17-0, 15 KO’s). Arum stated the deal would be active oncce the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) concluded.

In addition, if the popular bantamweight was victorious, the hall of fame promoter would like to match him with newly signed former unified champion Ryan Burnett (19-1, 9 KO’s)!

Burnett is coming off his first career loss, although, he was never actually beaten. While fighting Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire, Burnett suffered a rather freak injury that caused him t withdraw mid-fight.

Still in the early stages of their bout, Burnett tore muscle fibers in his right internal oblique. In the process, a portion of muscles also detached from the bone. The game Scotsman fought to the conclusion of the round, yet had to retire on the stool in between periods.

To make the loss even more crushing, Donaire and Burnett were fighting for the WBA super and the vacant WBC Diamond titles.

However, before Inoue can tangle with Burnett, the WBA regulard champion must first face IBF champion Emmanuel “Manny” Rodriguez (19-0, 12 KO’s).

Inoue and Rodriguez will lock horns this Saturday May 18, at the SSE Hydro Arena located in Glasgow, Scotland. The intriguing bout will air live on DAZN at 2pm. T

his meaningful unification bout has many excited and promises to be an action packed affair.

Stay tuned for any late breaking news and updates.
