Kenny Ellis Pushes for Tank Davis to Face Devin Haney And Shakur Stevenson

Kenny Ellis, trainer to multi-divisional champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis (29-0, 27KO), has stated they are interested in fighting either two-divisional champion Shakur “Fearless” Stevenson (20-0, 10KO) or undisputed lightweight champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (30-0, 15KO) this year.

TEAM DAVIS WANTS ALL THE SMOKE RIGHT NOW

In an interview with boxing YouTube channel The Rize, Ellis stated that Davis wants all the smoke and the time to make the fight is now.

“We want all the smoke! Ain’t nobody else left to fight for none of them guys. Let’s give the fans what they want, give the fans what they want. Ain’t no use playing around with unknown opponents and all that shit.”

“All three champions want to clean out the division. So, between them three, they should fight each other next. It’s enough time left in 2023 for Tank to fight Shakur [Stevenson] or [Devin] Haney . . . the time is now.”

WHY THESE THREE GUYS ARE LINKED TO EACH OTHER

These three fighters have been attached to each other in almost every boxing conversation about the division. The boxing community has been eager to see them in the ring to find out who is the best. Davis is coming off a win over Ryan Garcia.

After winning titles at featherweight and junior lightweight, Stevenson is ready to conquer the lightweight division. In addition, he is more than willing to fight Tank and believes it is the biggest fight to make in boxing. The undisputed champion’s history with the Baltimore power-puncher goes back to a sparring session at the famous Mayweather Boxing gym several years ago.

Some may believe that this is all talk by Team Davis. But boxing fans should take this as a good sign considering they have publicly issued the challenge
