Boxeo Telemundo to Televise Tostado vs Lopez II
This Friday, Boxeo Telemundo will play host to a rematch with title implications. Antonio Tostado (22-5, 7 KOs) will battle Victor Uriel Lopez (16-6-1, 5 KOs) for the vacant WBC Latino Bantamweight title.
These men are no strangers to one another. In December 2013, Lopez won the decision of an all out WAR between the two.
Their first fight can be found below:
Tostado, a 24 year old from Jalisco, Mexico, is a former WBO title contender and currently holds the Mexican Pacific Coast Bantamweight title. He will be looking to avenge a sour loss from their first encounter. Doing so would provide hope that he can get back into the rankings and possibly into title contention. Since his last defeat in 2015, he has been riding a seven-fight win streak.
Lopez, a Mexico City, Distrito Federal native, had the biggest win of his career when he derailed the title hopes of then-number one WBO contender Ryo Matsumoto. He would lose to Matsumoto later that same year, but has won three of his four bouts since.
This rematch, if anything like the first fight, is a must watch event that could come down to who has learned more since their last encounter.
The fight will be televised on Telemundo Network live in Auditorio Blackberry, Mexico City on August 3rd.
