Jahi Tucker Look Forward After Besting Lorenzo Simpson

For his latest at bat, middleweight fighter Jahi Tucker (15-1-1, 6 KOs) thoroughly schooled and outboxed Lorenzo “Truck” Simpson (15-3, 9 KOs). Simpson is now 2-3 in his last five prizefights. While this was a crushing setback for Truck, collecting the marquee scalp should serve Tucker very well moving forward.

Currently, neither fighter is ranked in the top 15 of any of the four major sanctioning bodies. So, it’s unclear what his next move may be. At the same time, before leaving the ring, the notion of a rematch was raised.

As would be expected, Simpson was quick and eager to co-sign that option. For his part, while he did not veto the idea, it was obvious that Tucker was not interested in a rematch.

Instead, Tucker will look to continue climbing the ladder en route to a title shot. Perhaps he might try to parley this victory into a dance with Shane Mosley Jr. or Vito Mielnicki Jr., who was on the way to victory at the time this piece was written.

“I’m going to go back with my team and watch tapes and get better. I’m coming for the world!”
