Tyler Denny And Adam Azim Capture EBU Titles By Stoppage

Middleweight Tyler Denny (17-2-3) grabbed the EBU European middleweight crown by dethroning Matteo Signani (32-7-3, 12KO).

Denny was the more elusive boxer and used that to his advantage the entire fight. His footwork was a key factor to success in keeping his lead foot on the outside and making excellent use of the angles.

In the middle rounds, Denny started finding a home for those hooks to the body. He was in cruise control and doing well in landing good counter shots before getting rocked by a counter-right hand that momentarily stunned him.

As the fight continued, there were concerns of a cut over the Italian’s right eye, which Denny quickly targeted once the action resumed.

Down the stretch, Denny boxed well and kept the pressure on with combination shots. At the beginning of round eight, Signani’s corner took too long sending their man out, forcing the referee to stop the fight.

It was a good win as Denny scored his first career stoppage and has won five fights in a row since getting a draw in 2021.

ADAM AZIM EASILY STOPS FRANCK PETITJEAN

Junior middleweight Adam “The Assassin” Azim (10-0, 7KO) outboxed and beat down Franck Petitjean (24-7-3, 6KO) to capture the EBU European title by stoppage.

Azim was on point from the start of the bell – the jab, footwork, defense, and counter-punching worked to perfection. He walked down the Frenchman, who could deal with the different punch variations.

In round five, The Assassin landed a perfect right hook to the body that put Petitjean down to one knee. The fight would go on as Azim continued to come forward, chopping down the tree with hard shots.

Petitjean tried to fight back and landed a few straight left hands but couldn’t adjust to the hand speed of the younger challenger.

In round ten, Azim landed a series of right uppercuts that sent Petitjean to the canvas again. This time, the fight wouldn’t continue as the referee waved off the fight.

Azim looked like a seasoned veteran in this fight. However, his next assignment will be the undefeated Enoch Poulsen. Poulsen previously lost the EBU belt outside the ring on account of illness.
