Linus Udofia is ready for the world stage
In boxing, everyone knows the names of the movers and the shakers in the sport. Some guys constantly have the spotlight on them whether it is a world champion or hot prospect. The top dogs in the sport will always get more ink than the rest of the fighters in the division.
However, sometimes a hidden gem will appear, a little rough around the edges, and may need some seasoning. Yet, the potential to be a world champion is there. All they need is a chance to prove it; an opportunity to show the world they are ready and they are coming.
TIME TO SHOW AND PROVE
October 4, 2020, female amateur standout Chantelle “Bam Bam” Cameron (12-0,7ko) will fight for the vacant WBC junior welterweight title against Adriana Araujo (6-0, 1ko).
Then, light heavyweight sensation Joshua Buatsi (12-0, 10ko) will also make the second defense of the WBA International title against Marko Calic (11-0, 6ko).
Undefeated middleweight Linus Udofia (15-0, 7ko) is one of those hidden gems that will be making an appearance. He will defend the BBBofC English middleweight crown against John Harding Jr (8-1-1, 2ko). Udofia has been looking to grab the boxing community’s attention and this is the moment he has been waiting on. Fans can expect the BBBofC champion to put on an impressive performance.
Furthermore, he has a fan-friendly style, good boxing skills, and is sound defensively. If necessary, he can mix up on the inside or pepper you with jabs coupled with combination punches at mid-range.
GET READY FOR A BATTLE
This fight will not just be another title defense. There is serious bad blood between the two combatants as the challenger believes the BBBofC champion has been ducking him for quite some time.
When Udofia posted about his upcoming fight with Harding Jr with the caption “Time to hunt”, the challenger felt a bit disrespected, and the response was personal.
Now all fighters will talk and take slick jabs at their opponent. However, when you bring in relationships and accuse any them of ducking, that is where the line is drawn, and during an interview with iFL TV, the BBBofC champion doubled down.
“Because I got a title, I got a target on my head. People are coming after me in retrospect. Why am I going to let people come after me when I can just go after them?”
“The fight is done, now I coming for you. I am hunting you. Think whatever you want to think, I’m hunting you now. If you think I’m just waiting for you to show up, no I am hunting you now!”
