Yordenis Ugas Calls Out Errol Spence
Top welterweight contender Yordenis “54 Milagros” Ugas (25-4, 12KOs) has yet again called out unified welterweight champion Errol “The Truth” Spence (26-0, 21KOs).
The Cuban fighter took to his Instagram page to share his thoughts on Spence.
A DANGEROUS THREAT TO ALL!
Ugas is a very skilled fighter who has a legitimate gripe in regards to him being on the wrong side of a split decision loss to former WBC welterweight champion Shawn “Showtime” Porter (30-3-1, 17KOs) back in March of 2019. Many watching that fight felt that Ugas did more than enough to have his hand raised. Obviously though, the judges felt otherwise.
Since then, the Cuban fighter has looked impressive in his two-fight winstreak. He defeated hard-hitting slugger Omar Figueroa (28-1-1, 19KOs) rather easily back in July of 2019, then followed that up with a stoppage victory over Mike Dallas Jr (23-4-2, 11KOs) in February.
WITHIN REACH OF SPENCE AND PACQUIAO TITLE SHOT!
Ugas ranks #3 in the WBC rankings and #1 in the WBA. Accordingly, he is in line for a title opportunity possibly in 2021. However with Spence and Pacquiao being linked to a possible unification bout in 2021, Ugas may have to take a back seat and fight other contenders until a title opportunity presents itself.
Needless to say, the Cuban-born fighter is eager to get his chance at the two-belt champion.
