The WBA has ordered an immediate rematch take place between Jarrett Hurd and Erislandy Lara.
Hurd gained his second major title when he defeated Lara by split decision on April 7th.
A deal must be reached by May 18th, if not a purse bid will be ordered. In the first fight, one judge scored it 114-113 for Lara while the other two had the same score in favor of Hurd.
It was a good competitive bout. Hurd applied constant pressure throughout while Lara attempted to box but seemed to fade as the fight progressed. The constant pressure paid dividends down the stretch as the now unified champion scored a knockdown in the last round which seemed to be the difference in the end.
It looks like we will get to see it again! Lets hope it will be just as entertaining as the first.
