WBC Orders Savannah Marshall to Face Mandatory Challenger Shadasia Green
Mandatory super middleweight challenger Shadasia “The Sweet Terminator” Green (12-0, 11KO) will get a shot at the undisputed champion Savannah “Silent Assassin” Marshall (13-, 10KO). Moreover, she is ready and believes fans should prepare to see fireworks when the two hard-hitting fighters are in the ring.
According to Fight Freaks Unite, the WBC has kept its word by ordering the teams of Marshall and Green to begin the negotiation process. The deadline for a deal to be made before a purse bid gets ordered is September 1.
SHADASIA GREEN IS READY TO FACE SAVANNAH MARSHALL
Excited to hear the news, The Sweet Terminator told 3kingsboxing.com she is looking forward to fighting for the undisputed crown.
“I look forward to facing the undisputed world champion. We will create fireworks that night and it will be a fight in the history books.”
It is the second time the organization ordered Green to fight for the undisputed crown. On April 10, she was on track to fight then-undisputed champion Franchon Crews-Dezurn. However, the organization withdrew the order to allow Silent Assassin to fight Crews-Dezurn instead.
Several boxing fans believed that boxing politics would come into play, preventing Green from getting the winner next. On July 1, Marshall’s victory set the wheels in motion for a rematch with arch-rival Claressa Shields.
To their credit, both undisputed champions acknowledged that Green had been waiting. Shields publicly stated she would step aside and fight the winner. This development is a refreshing change of pace, as fans rarely see the right call being made by pushing politics to the side.
