WBO Orders Munguia vs Smith

The WBO issues immediate mandate for new champion

Fresh off of a fourth round destruction of Sadam Ali newly crowned WBO junior middleweight champion Jaime Munguia has been ordered to defend his title against Liam Smith 3KingsBoxing.com has learned.

If you remember it was supposed to be Smith not Munguia taking on Ali this past weekend, but Smith pulled out of the fight due to a skin condition.

Now the former champion will get another crack at the belt he used to have when he challenges the hard hitting, tall champion.

I know Smith is eager to get another crack at the title he once held, with this ruling by the WBO. We’re more than likely to see Munguia-Smith fight sometime this fall.

Munguia burst on the scene this past Saturday with his four round destruction of Ali. He presents a unique challenge to everyone in the junior middleweight division with his overall size and swarming offensive style.
