First Dana White, now Eddie Hearn for Mikey Garcia?
3KingsBoxing.com has learned that WBC lightweight titlist Mikey Garcia is in talks with British promoter Eddie Hearn. Garcia has been linked to Dana White but it looks like he is keeping his options opens and there could be a billion reasons to choose Hearn over White.
Hearn, just signed a 8 years 1 billion dollar deal with the streaming company DAZN. The deal which is for Hearn’s U.S based fights would give him 16 cards a year and a total budget of $125 million for the year. By far the biggest budget that anyone has on a year to year basis with any network.
Garcia is more than likely looking for the most lucrative deal he can get and the one person that now has resources to offer that is Eddie Hearn. Garcia is slated to take part in unification bout on July 28 against Robert Easter Jr. Will Hearn get himself a name that can make a splash and perhaps cause a dominio effect in landing others? I’m sure that’s the results he is hoping for.
However, is hard to say what Garcia will do as he has become somewhat unpredictable as of late. Because of that some may feel that Hearn would have to entice Garcia with a good offer, as he has done well for himself as a free agent.
