Whyte Opponent Expected to be Announced This Week

Hearn calls press conference for announcement tomorrow

Well there’s a lot of chatter going on as far as Dillian Whyte goes. According to Eddie Hearn a big fight came up for Whyte just a couple of days ago. Now, there’s a press conference scheduled tomorrow for Whyte and his mystery opponent.

It was everything but a forgone conclusion the Whyte would be facing Kubrat Pulev in a IBF title eliminator. Well, that’s now up in the air as Hearn has stated he now has a different offer on the table and they seem to be exploring going that route. Epic Sports and Entertainment shocked everyone by winning the purse bid for Pulev to take on Whyte in Bulgaria, perhaps that caused Hearn to look at other options?

After Hearn mentioned this mystery opponent, rumors started circulating that perhaps it could be former WBO heavyweight titlist Joseph Parker. However, Parker’s promoter has come out and stated that those rumors are nothing but hot air. Parker is actually set to face Bryant Jennings in August.

Luis Ortiz, who just suffered his first career loss to WBC heavyweight titlist Deontay Wilder back in March, has also been linked to Whyte. No one knows for sure who the unnamed opponent is gonna be, perhaps it will be Pulev still, it however does not look like it will be Ortiz.

Hearn is keeping everything close to his vest at the moment as all of this has come down just this morning. Perhaps, as the day goes by we will finally get some clarity on who this opponent will be. 3KingsBoxing.com will monitor the situation and will give an update as soon as more information becomes available.
