Whyte looking to put the Wilder situation out on the table!
WBC mandatory Dillian Whyte recently released a text message that was supposedly sent from WBC champion Deontay Wilder. It reveals that Wilder has no interest in fighting him for at least 2 years.
This situation has been brewing for just over a year now, with Whyte calling out Wilder for a title opportunity. Wilder has shown little to no interest. He has even gone as far as stating that, “He does nothing for my career and, it’d just be a fight to see how fast I can knock him out.”
In an interview with DAZN USA, Whyte showed his communication with Wilder. He added fuel to the revelations with his commentary:
“I said I would fight him but we had to agree. ‘There’s no waiting six months, waiting a year, you fight me next – no-one else apart from me.'”
“But he said, ‘I ain’t signing that.'”
The hosts at DAZN proclaimed Wilder is a coward and a joke for his actions regarding Whyte. Wilder currently has a fight with lineal champion Tyson Fury, and is looking to fight Anthony Joshua rather than fight Whyte.
This interview won’t do Wilder any favors and may be the publicity Whyte needs to position himself for a Wilder fight.
