Dillian Whyte posts emails of a $4 Million offer!

Prior to signing up for a bout against Alexander Povetkin, heavyweight contender Dillian “The Body Snatcher” Whyte (27-1, 18 KO’s) had another fight in mind. Rather than facing the aging Russian, Whyte would have preferred to test his might with former heavyweight champion Andy “The Destroyer” Ruiz Jr (33-2, 22 KO’s). Their two respective teams even engaged in some communications, but ultimately nothing came of it.

If you let Dillian Whyte tell it, his team offered Ruiz great money and the jolly Californian simply neglected to answer the call of duty. In the most recent back and forth, the Body Snatcher alleged that Ruiz was offered and turned down a five million dollar payday. And as could only be expected, The Destroyer quickly denied the accusation.

CLOSE BUT NO CIGAR

After witnessing Ruiz’s denial of his claims, Whyte wasted little time in posting his version of receipts on the matter. The trouble with this is the fact that what Dillian Whyte posted did not exactly support the claims that he made!

If holding Whyte to the letter of the law, he stated that Ruiz was offered a four million dollar payday with the opportunity to fight in his hometown. Yet, the thread of texts that Whyte screenshot and posted did not indicate these stipulations. Not only was the offer one million short of the five million previously eluded too, the note said that this was an additional offer.

This has to mean that Ruiz was posed another lesser offer before the four million dollar prompt. And while there was an offer to fight in the US, there was no mention of fighting in the Destroyer’s hometown. So while there clearly was some confirmed communication, it does not appear to be exactly what Dillian Whyte said it was.
