Deontay Wilder Hits Tyson Fury Where It Hurts!
Boxing often times is ego driven, especially when you have two headstrong guys with genuine conviction in the things they say.
When it comes to Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury, it’s no different. A lot of times things get said to promote a fight that may make you feel a certain type of way. Especially if you root for one fighter over the other.
For Wilder, he unleashed an ether-type of verbal assault towards Tyson Fury. What he said wasn’t a lie, how he said it is what will get the fans of Fury, or people who share similar life experiences with the self proclaimed “Gypsy King”, angry.
REITERATING FURY’S PAST DEMONS!
“Don’t ever forget, when I found you, you were strung out on coke! When I found you, you were like a bent house contemplating about killing yourself. So don’t you ever forget who brought you to big time boxing.
I drug you back, I I brought you back! I provided food on the table for your family to eat! I’m doing it for the second time so don’t you ever forget that! So I brought you to big time boxing.”
It’s well documented about the past issues that plagued the former unified heavyweight champion, almost costing him his career and, more importantly, his life. With him seemingly in a better space physically and mentally, we all should applaud him for that. However, that won’t erase his past and prevent this topic from being a continuous talking point for future opponents.
Wilder did play a huge part in the resurrection of Fury, as he was identified as a man that could give Fury the proper dedication to get back to the world class level he once stood back in 2015.
BOTH MEN NEEDED EACH OTHER
At the end of the day, both men needed each other no matter what they say to promote this fight. With unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua not an option for either fighter, the next best option was each other.
