Julian Williams vs Jarret Hurd Set for December; On One Condition!

Julian Williams Urges Jarrett Hurd to Enroll in VADA Before Rematch

Julian Williams vs Jarrett Hurd sequel is done, however, Williams has a request!

Everybody buckle up! After arguably the best fight of the year thus far, unified junior middleweight champion Julian “J-Rock” Williams and former unified champion Jarrett “Swift” Hurd are going to do it again!

The two men will meet December 14 in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center. The fight will headline a PBC on FOX card.

There is, however, a request from the champion may or may not hold up the already agreed upon deal.

Julian J-Rock Williams' Tweet
Julian J-Rock Williams states he will not fight until Hurd enrolls in VADA.

On May 11, these two men put on an absolute war. Williams, an underdog going into the fight, quickly made a statement by dropping the former champion in round one. From that point forward, the war was on! Williams outfought and out-boxed the champion for majority of the fight. However, Hurd would get dish out punishment of his own.

In the end, it was Williams who had his hand raised. This left Hurd obviously disappointed, as he suffered his first career loss, lost his titles and had his homecoming spoiled. With all that behind him, he’s eager to right the wrong of that May 11 night.

For Williams, he’s looking to show the world that the first fight wasn’t a fluke. To add even more significance to this rematch, the vacant ring magazine 154 pound title will be at stake.

I expect the sequel to be just as good as the first fight. For now, mark your calendars for December 14 and hopefully the VADA situation gets worked out!
