Anthony Yarde vs Callum Smith Is A Fight Worth Entertaining

Having defeated Lyndon Arthur in trilogy, two-time light heavyweight title challenger Anthony Yarde (27-3, 24 KOs) is on the hunt for his next opponent. With his rankings of #2 (WBO), #4 (WBA), #5 (IBF), and #9 (WBC) Yarde could face interim WBO titlist Callum “Mundo” Smith (31-2, 22 KOs) next.

Smith is on a two-fight winning streak since losing to Artur Betebiev. In addition, he was last in the ring this past February 22. Yarde could also secure a match with #4 (WBC) Oleksandr “The Nail” Gvozdyk.

The Nail picked up his latest knockout win, over Anthony Hollaway, this past April 19. There is two-division champion David Morrell, who is coming off a loss to WBC light heavyweight champion David Benavidez.

Both Gvozdyk and Morrell have fought Benavidez and therefore either would make a good measuring stick. The smart choice would be against Mundo as fans from the United Kingdom would pay to see it. Let’s see what Team Yarde comes up with next.
