Yokasta Valle vs Thi Thu Nhi Nguyen Set For Major Unification.
Women’s boxing has been making plenty of moves, and unifications seem to be the fight of choice on the menu. The minimumweight division is getting a huge jolt as IBF champion Yokasta Valle (25-2, 9KO) and WBO champion Thi Thu Nhi Nguyen (5-0, 1 KO) are scheduled to unify on September 8.
Valle has been calling for unification since taking the title away from Joana Pastrana via a split decision back in 2019. In her last outing against challenger Lorraine Vallolobos, she looked impressive easily winning in her American debut. Immediately following the fight, the champion wasted little time in calling for a unification with WBA champion Seniesa “Super Bad” Estrada, WBC champion Tina Rupprecht, and Nguyen.

Nguyen only has five professional fights, but she has quickly risen up the ranks and took the title away from three-time champion Etsuko Tada who also won the WBA title in her fifth fight in 2009. Her path in boxing has not been easy, as Nguyen explained in an interview with Tapei Times. She is a well-rounded and fundamentally sound boxer with an even attack on the head and body.
SUPER BAD WILL WANT THE WINNER
The winner could face one of the top pound-for-pound women fighters in Estrada. Moreover, Valle has a history with Estrada as they were once stablemates under Golden Boy and were on track to eventually make the fight.
Despite Estrada leaving Golden Boy for rival promotion Top Rank, fans will be calling for the winner to face her. She will be paying close attention to this fight and undoubtedly be on standby with a social media call-out on deck!
