Gaumont Should Face A Ranked Fighter After Beating Viera

In front of the home crowd in Canada, Middleweight prospect Alexandre “King Cogne” Gaumont (12-0, 8KO) ran over veteran Andres “Pitufo” Viera (12-9, 9KO) in two rounds.

It was target practice for King Cogne from the start of the bell, as he used the jab to set up the right hand and hooks to the body. He kept coming forward with the power jab as Pitufo was in retreat mode.

Gaumont threw combination punches and used angles to maintain the advantage. His defense needs some improvement, as Viera was able to land a few solid right-hands down the middle.

In the second round, the undefeated Canadian picked up the pace even more, landing a barrage of shots that put Viera against the ropes. As his opponent fought back, Gaumont landed a punishing right hook that put Pitufo on the canvas.

The crowd cheered as the referee counted to ten. Although this was the type of performance Gaumont needed, it was against a low-rated opponent. It’s time to take off the training wheels and challenge someone inside the top 15 of the rankings.
