Alexis Rocha Seeking Big Names After Besting Jo Jo Diaz By UD
Following roughly 15 months of in activity, welterweight boxer Alexis “Lex” Rocha (26-2-1, 15 KO’s) returned to the win column. He pulled this feat off by defeating veteran Joseph “Jo Jo” Diaz (34-9-1, 15 KO’s) by way of unanimous decision. When revealed, the judges ruled in Rocha’s favor to the tune of 97-93, 98-92 and 100-90.
This was an emotional win for Rocha who was forced to withdraw from his January 16 rematch with Raul Curiel after passing out, having succumbed to dehydration. With this fresh win under his belt, Lex feels he is ready once again for the big leagues.
During his post-fight interview, Rocha first called out boxing wildcard and one-time drug cheat “King Ry” Ryan Garcia. After the money fight with Garcia, Lex would then call out the winner of his card’s main event between Arnold Barboza Jr. and Kenneth Sims Jr.
Of these two options, it would seem that the Barboza vs Sims victor is far more realistic. This is especially so given Rocha’s long layoff and complete non-existence in any recognized sanctioning body rankings. As this was a solid and entertaining, duel it will be interesting to see who Lex is tossed in with next.
