Amir Khan Reveals His Comeback Opponent

Khan returns April 21st against Lo Greco

As predicted, Amir Khan will make his return to the ring against Canadian Phil Lo Greco, at the Echo Arena, Liverpool on April 21st.

This will be Khan’s first fight in two years and the first of his new three fight deal with Matchroom Boxing. His opponent Lo Greco is no stranger to the top names In the welterweight division having fought IBF champions past and present in Shawn Porter and Errol Spence Jr. Lo Greco has been very vocal on social media in an attempt to get the fight, persistence that has paid off in what will be his first fight in the UK.

Khan said“I can’t wait to get back into the ring on April 21 at the Echo Arena in Liverpool. Phil Lo Greco will be coming with everything to win this fight and I’m not going to give him an inch,” “He’s an aggressive fighter who is always looking to press the fight and come forward. That makes for a very exciting and action-packed fight for the fans.

“He’s shared the ring with the likes of Spence Jr and Porter, so he’s operated at the highest level. I respect him as a fighter and know he will be coming with big ambitions but I’m going to put on a great performance and prove to the boxing world that the ‘King’ is well and truly back.”

Khan’s goal is obviously to be a world champion again, and you can probably forgive him for making this fight given his last fight ending in the way that it did. But Lo Greco is not ranked in the top 15 by any major governing body. Is this is tune up for a potential fight with fellow Brit Kell Brook? Or does Khan and the Matchroom team have a plan?

Either or, I wish him the best.
