Andy Cruz Offers to Beat Up Keyshawn Davis Again!
Rivalries in boxing often start with fighters talking trash on social media, sparring sessions, and fights from their amateur days. For Cuba’s 2020 Olympic gold medalist Andy Cruz and lightweight prospect Keyshawn “The Businessman” Davis (6-0, 5KO), their case is the latter. Keyshawn Davis recently claimed he would defeat his amateur rival in a professional rematch. Cruz got wind of the remarks and responded with fervor in kind.
THE HISTORY OF THE TWO RIVALS
The history between these two fighters is deeply rooted. They have fought four times, with three of those times being for a gold medal. Cruz walked away as the victor each time, with the most important victory being for the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
After losing the final chapter of their saga, The Businessman returned to the professional ranks to take care of business. Cruz would return to Cuba as a hero, and fans were left to ponder if they would ever fight on the professional level.
WILL THEY FIGHT AT THE PROFESSIONAL LEVEL?
When Cuba announced the end of its long-time ban on professional boxing, the boxing community immediately rejoiced and hoped to see a fifth fight between the two rivals. Cruz has since left his home country of Cuba, and the boxing community awaits his announcement of his first fight as a pro. Davis is also anxious to settle the score and took to social media explaining that he would stop Cruz within six rounds.
It seems that things are getting extra spicy between the two rivals. Cruz responded by offering to beat his arch-rival a fifth time and then revealed that Davis blocked him on social media.
