3KingsBoxing has learned light heavyweight contender Sullivan Barrera (22-2, 14 KO’s) will now fight former super middleweight contender Jesse Hart (25-2, 21 KO’s) on the Tyson Fury vs Tom Schwarz under-card!
The ESPN telecast will air on June 15 live from the MGM Grand located in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Barrera is replacing Eleider Alvarez, who withdrew due to an injury. Prior to hopping on the Fury card, he was on scheduled to fight Michael Seals on the under-card of Oscar Valdez vs Jason Sanchez June 8.
However, when presented with what he perceived as a tougher opponent and a higher profile card, the talented Cuban swiftly accepted the challenge.
Barrera was first introduced to mainstream boxing fans when he faced Andre “S.O.G.” Ward just a hair over three years ago. Despite losing on the cards, Barrera’s talent and skill were undeniable.
Following the prizefight with Ward, he went on a four-fight win streak before suffering his second professional loss to WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol (16-0, 11 KO’s).
Since the Bivol setback, he added one to the win column after besting Sean Monaghan (29-3, 17 KO’s).
The bout against Jesse Hart will be his first prizefight of 2019 and his first since leaving Main Events Promotions.
